So my brother in-law Darren liked the ornament and asked for a stand for it. This is what I designed. On this option the globe is Maple, flame is white oak and Sapele. The stand for the lighthouse is made of Jatoba. This is the current color of it. Over time it will turn to a vibrant red with the grain contrasting black. It is quite exotic and vibrant look. The base is hollowed out so that the torch sits inside the base.
This is a tree ornament or free standing if you so desire. Made out of Maple, when turned it is set of center 4 times to make the cuts go only partially around. It is about 7” tall. Angel on top is about 1” tall. Eyelet can be installed in top if so desired.
Audra wasn’t so sure about this design. This is a new design I am not so sure about either. Input is indeed needed and grateful on this design. If you have other ideas that would be great. I know many of you are very crafty out there. Thanks.

Xmas Ornament

So here are the finished pictures of the tree ornament. I did get some good feedback about it too which is much appreciated. It is supposed to look like a lantern. It is about 5” long and about 1 3/4” in diameter. This size is probably as small as you want to go due to the size of the windows. Any smaller and your windows would be too small. I have had some requests in alterations, those pictures will be coming as soon as they are made. Thanks for the info.

Turned Christmas Tree Ornaments

Wow it has been a long time since I have last posted. Well I have been busy at the lathe turning several projects. One I just did tonight is a Christmas tree ornament. It is made from Sapele, Walnut, and Maple. I decided I am going to be selling these on demand. They will go for $10.00. This one here still needs to be finished and have the eyelet in the top still installed. You can either email me or soon I will have some in the Track Side Mall in Idaho Falls. It takes just an hour to turn and then another day to finish. Overall I can have them to you in about a week’s time at the latest. Any questions feel free to ask away. Thanks.
